KEI sandblasted several timber loft buildings throughout the years. For many years the brick walls, timber beams and ceilings throughout the building were covered in paint. The clients were looking for a natural appearance upon completion. scale constructions.
This was a very special job. A longtime client brought us in to help remove a waterproof membrane from the beautiful water fountains located at the entrance of the convention center. The membrane was originally installed to protect the interior concrete walls of the fountains. Once the membrane was completely removed from the interior walls, a special coating was applied.
The Donald E. Stephens Convention Center hosts hundreds of Trade Shows and exhibitions each year. There isn’t a lot of downtime between trade shows so in order for us to complete the project we had to begin sandblasting at 5am.
This allowed us to complete most of the work before the morning commute began and prevent unnecessary traffic delays.undertake.
This 7 story building (formerly known as Life Storage) was built in the early 20th century. The exterior underwent a complete restoration including window replacement, masonry and roof repairs, as well as adding overhead doors in the loading dock area. The south and east exterior elevations had been painted for a number of years causing damage to the brick. This particular phase of restoration began during the winter. Scaffolding was erected and wrapped with a material that allowed sunlight to penetrate without letting dust from blasting to escape.
The owners decided to have the fire escape sandblasted and repainted after seeing the exteriors walls without the paint.

Once the client got a glimpse of the finished 7th floor, they quickly decided to blast every floor including the basement, several vaults and a separate room with a beautiful arched ceiling. Several contractors needed to be able to work on the interior at the same time so each floor was sealed during sandblasting to insure everyone could work uninterrupted.
